Master code:
Enter the options menu, then select "Cheats". Enter backdoor (case-sensitive) to unlock all cheat options. The sound of money being collected will confirm correct code entry. Press Start to pause game play in career, free skate,2 player or single session mode to access the cheat menu. Press X to toggle the options. Note: This does not unlock the hidden characters and bonus levels.

Enter one of the following names at the create a skater screen and their stats will appear.

Immediately when you start the level, go to the right and ollie into the place where you usually check your bags to get on an airplane. It will lead you to a location with a helicopter. To leave, either go backwards or down the staircase.

Hint: Airport level: Extra points:
Use the following steps for an easy way to get over a million points in a trick. Skate down to the baggage claim area. From there, go to the left side and grind up the far left escalator rail. Let yourself grind up and slide back down. Once you slide back down, jump to the next rail and so on. If done properly, the rails form a continuous loop as long as you can stay balanced. Special grinds help a lot.

Hint: Cruise Ship level: Cake:
If you find the cake somewhere on the Cruise Ship, hit it and watch a different cake appear from the bottom. There are three cakes in total.

Hint: Los Angeles level: System Of A Down appearance:
Go to the tower where you are supposed to Airwalk as one of your missions. There should be two pedestrians there. Hit them both. The one in the blue shirt should should say "Your pushin' it!". Look at the man's face. He looks exactly like the lead singer for System Of A Down and "Push It" is one of their more popular songs.

Hint: Rio level: Change park layout:
When first starting the level, go to the right side of the park. There is a platform immediately after the humps. It is supported by some wooden stands. One of the stands looks very shaky. Skate into that and you will knock the platform down.

Hint: Skater Island level: Hidden area:
Go to the halfpipe, but do not go in it. Stay on the top by the Neversoft surfboard and skate towards the gap with two hanging flags. Ollie the gap and grind the left flag. If done correctly, the message "ahoy, thar be more skatin outside" will appear.

Hint: Tokyo: Hidden area:
Skate forward to the end of the level, to the right bowl. Go inside and get air off the left wall. Skate straight towards the right wall. Hold Up/Left and you will start to grind across the red lanterns. Hold Triangle through the entire grind until you reach the beginning of the level. Keep grinding and you will reach a wall. Jump off the wall onto a higher platform, still in the grind. Jump off that platform onto the orange platform and keep grinding. You will knock off the wire that is holding up a giant circle. You have now unlocked a new part of the level that is accessible from the bottom part of the orange platform.

Hint: Knock people down:
You knock people down by simply skating into them. This can help in Canada, with the task, "Get Chuck Unstuck".

Hint: Burn Skate Shop clerk:
Go to skater selection screen and scroll to Demoness. The skate shop clerk will start to burn up in the background. Move to a different character and he will get back up, alive again.

Hint: Choke Skate Shop clerk:
When scrolling through the characters, go to Darth Maul. The clerk will float up in the air and start choking.

Hint: Ollie The Bum: Whiskey bottle:
While playing as Ollie The Bum, turn switch and do his special (Panhandling). While switch, instead of holding his sign he will hold out his whiskey bottle.

Hint: Choking pedestrians:
Unlock Darth Maul as a skater. Do a free skate and go to Los Angeles, Airport, or anywhere else where there are pedestrians that say "Hey!" or "Watch Out!" as you skate by them. Skate slowly near them, and as soon as they scream at you, turn and face them. They will float up in the air and start choking until you look away. Note: This trick will not work on the pedestrians that fall or hit you when you go near them.

Hint: More specials:
Complete all objectives in a stage.

Hint: Bigger air and more spins:
When you are trying to do any trick, press Up(2), X to do a Fast Plant or Bean Plant. When done on a quarter pipe you will get more air and make it possible to get 900s and 1080s. This is very useful when trying to win the gold medal in the three contests.

Hint: Recover faster:
Rapidly press Up after bailing.

Hint: UFO:
In Tony Hawk's video, there is a UFO at the very end where he does the 900.

Hint: Extra points:
Go to any level that has long rails. Start a grind, Ollie, do a flip trick, then grind again with a different grind than the one done before. Keep repeating the process for up to 300,000 points.

Hidden combos:
There are hidden combos in the game that cannot be selected as a move, For example, for the double kickflip, press Left + Square twice quickly. For a triple kickflip, press Left + Square quickly three times. You can also do this with impossibles, heelflips, and kickflips.

Hidden combo grinds:
Go to any level and go to a rail. Do a 50/50, then while you are in the same grind press Triangle, Up; or Triangle, Down; or Down(2) or; Up(2). The possible hidden combo grinds are:

It may be possible to do more. All you need to do is grind then press the button combination to go into one of the grinds listed above. Note: You do not need to Ollie to do the combo grind.

To combo on grinds, go into a 50-50. Press Up, Triangle for a nose grind and Down, Triangle for a 5-0. Once in either grind, press Square(2) to go into a Nose Slide or Tailslide, press Circle(2) to go into a Crooked/Overcrooked or Feeble/Smith Grind, press Up(2), Triangle to go into a Noseblunt, or press Down(2), Triangle for a Blunt Slide. Tricks that use the nose can only be comboed out of a nosegrind and vice versa.

Hidden combo manuals:
Go into a special manual and press button combinations to get a different manual. For example, go into an a Truck Stand and your skater will do a 360 Truck Stand. After he does that, without doing an ollie, press Right(2), Triangle and you will do that 360 Truck Stand. Press Left, Right, Triangle to go into an Anti Casper. It is possible to go into a Primo Stall, Casper Stall, Anti Casper, and 360 Truck Stand. The message "Hidden Combo" will appear.

Hidden combo lip tricks:
Go to a lip on a quarter or halfpipe and do a stall. Press another lip trick button combination to go into another lip stall. The message "Hidden Combo" will appear.

Salad Grind combo into a Bluntslide:
If you are using the Salad Grind while grinding, press Down(2), Triangle to switch it up to a Bluntslide.

Glitch: Skater Island: Wallride on air:
In Skater Island, go outside to the big quarter pipe ramp. Grind over the hump then jump off onto the top of the quarter pipe. Go straight until you get where the two fences change sizes. Wallride on the empty space above the shorter fence. Note: This may require a few attempts.

Glitch: Skater Island: Extra points:
Go to the second pool on your right, from the start. Stay in the pool and build up speed. Eventually you will start hitting the ceiling. If you get the correct angle, you will stick up there. Keep on doing moves using flips and grabs. If you land it, you can get upwards of 500,000,000 points. Make sure you have good specials and do not get too far ahead of yourself with moves. Note: The Moon Physics code may need to be activated.

Glitch: Tokyo: Float:
Select Tokyo, Free Run, and any character. At the start, do not go straight. Instead, turn around, and do the Crookedcop. Keep the button held. If you fall while still holding the button, instead of touching the ground you will float.

Enable the "Moon physics" code. Choose any character, any game mode, and select Tokyo. When you start, go straight to the other end of the level, with the pink neon vert ramps. Get air off the farthest back ramp and launch diagonally to the left and tap grind when you get to the rail just below the subway track. Grind the rail until you are just about to run into the box with the two vert ramps, and jump inside the box. Get air off the ramps in the box and on either ramp, launch diagonally towards the building and away from the pink neon vert ramps. If you got enough air and did it correctly, your character should land on the roof of the building then float to the edge of the roof and back.

Glitch: Bail before you go into the air:
Go off any halfpipe and release X before the end. Then quickly hold a grab trick, then grind. If done correctly, you will fly up into the air, but be bailing -- you will be in the air and your board will be down there.

Glitch: Shrinking people:
Get the Demoness, then go up to any person in the game. Get very close to the person without tripping him/her, making them her jump out of the way. Once done, stare at the person face-to-face and he/she will shrink.
